Sobriety Coaching

Addiction is Not a Moral Failure - It's a Brain-Based Condition.

Addiction is often rooted in trauma. The pain a person carries may come from many sources: feeling unheard or unsupported as a child, parental divorce, bullying, rejection due to sexual orientation, or countless other experiences.

These wounds often follow people into adulthood, where they can fuel maladaptive coping behaviors such as alcohol or substance use.

In my work, I help clients identify and understand the origins of their trauma so they can recognize how unresolved experiences continue to shape their addictive patterns. I also teach the neuroscience of addiction - how the brain's chemistry and wiring influence cravings, habits, and relapse.

When people understand how their brain actually works and begin to implement new tools to cope, shame begins to loosen its grip - and shame is what keeps many trapped in the cycle.’
